For a greenie, he is smart and enjoys actively participating in his work. Constant repetition of patterns is not necessary as he picks up on things quickly. His conditioning program has been solid flatwork with poles in the indoor arena as well as trail riding. Of the two, he very much prefers the trail riding.
On the trail he is very good and if he is unsure about something or sees a strange object, he will stop, look at it and then move on. His tendency is not to shy. He is fine at all gaits on a trail as well as being first or being last.
He does not react to flags, things blowing in the wind jackets being waved around, etc.
He is an energetic horse that needs consistent work a minimum of 4-5 days a week. He needs a confident rider that will ride him forward and that will respond appropriately when he tests boundaries.
