Laughing Dog Ranch

Mary Anne Morrison, owner and manager of Laughing Dog Ranch, LLC has been obsessed with showing, breeding and training dogs and horses since childhood. For 30 years she campaigned her home-bred Rottweilers, then Stafford Bull Terriers and Beauceron in a variety of disciplines. After the death of her soul-mate Stafford, Stella Luna, the dog show world lost its lustre. 

To fill the void, Mary Anne began a year-long search for a small, good-minded Arabian trail horse. To her surprise, these were rare as hens' teeth. Finally, Mary Anne discovered High Star Farm and a little Arabian mare, HS Sweet Chardonnay. "Char-Char" had quite a transition from a fancy show barn to life on a mountain top in Colorado, but she and Mary Anne have since enjoyed many adventures, including an American Competitive Trail Horse Association ride down the world's scariest crack.

Mary Anne's present obsession is to create the ultimate show/pleasure purebred and 1/2 Arabian suitable for small women and children. The old 4-H motto, "Learn by Doing", echoes daily, so Mary Anne insisted on riding and showing her horses at Regional and National levels. 2010 was a huge victory for Lil Miss Perfect LD, who tied for U.S. National Champion! The 2011 Scottsdale show was an incredible one for the Laughing Dog crew: Mary Anne rode Syriana VS to Reserve Champion Hunter Pleasure, garnered Top 5 on her Western Pleasure mare Dream a Lil Dream +++/, and showed Lil Miss Perfect LD to Top 5!
2011 Arabian SportHorse Nationals was a thrill as well when Lil Miss Perfect LD went National Champion and her 1/2 brother, This Magic Moment LD, won Top Ten.5
