The celebrated Dutch stallion Sampson is being offered to the public for the first time. Sampson has had an illustrious career on 2 continents. A few highlights with the present owner, Kate Levy, Include placing numerous times, 2nd, 3rd and 5th in the 1.45/1.50 division at the World Cup Finals in Gothenburg, Sweden 2001. He won numerous titles in the JR/ A/O High divisions across the country including the Calvin Klein Show Jumping Derby at the Hampton Classic and securing championships at big competitions like Lake Placid, Old Salem, Devon and Wellington. Sampson also has an incredible competition history with former riders Eleanor Ritch, in the United States in the junior rankings (it was upon his entry into the United States that his name was changed to Sampson). He had a banner career also with his first international rider, Anton Martin Bauer from Austria, who competed with the stallion as Remus Con.

The most unusual quality in Sampson is his intelligence and gentle character. He is a horse who is not only incredibly talented and athletic for the top-jumping sport naturally but who is also very easy to ride and has a huge heart, always aiming to please his rider. He has very adjustable and balanced gates, coupled with a light mouth and supple body. His incredible respect for the fences made him a constant winner in the sport and he also had a desire to go very fast. In general, such careful and conscientious horses like Sampson often have nerves or spookiness, but Sampson is very unique in that he was always cool under pressure and fearless in and out of the show-ring which made him a constant winner as a show horse.

Born in Holland, under the name Hannover, Sampson was approved with top scores at the rigorous 100 day test in Austria. The dark bay son of Boreus is out of the outstanding Ster mare Benedicte, who is a daughter of Utrecht and goes back to Lucky Boy. This important pedigree suggests a stallion of high prepotency, able to pass on the superior genetics of high profile performers to the next generation.

Sampson's breeding season is being handled by Reproduction Specialist, Karen Berk of Equine Reproduction Services, Ocala Florida, where he will stand the 2010 season. Semen is available 7 days a week for your convenience. Frozen semen is available for the EU and we have an outstanding Embryo Transfer program.
